Williams Family Farm

Project Overview

Williams Family Farm is an iconic North Georgia landmark. The sprawling 250-acre farm grows and sells seasonal organic produce and non-perishables. They also host events for the community. They've been in business for decades and are ready to find a new way to keep up with their tech-savvy customers. Users need a way to check what's in season, find recipes to use with their produce, and stay in the loop with Williams Family Farm events.

The app made users feel more connected to this amazing farm and community treasure. They were better prepared to go to the farmers market knowing what they'd find there and what recipes they'd use their produce to make. They were able to keep up with farm events and store inventory. I loved making this app. Its clean design and color palette allow the photography to shine and make the design overall easier to navigate. As a frequent farmers market shopper, I feel that an app like this would be extremely useful. I often go and can't find what I need or fall in love with beautiful produce I don't have a plan for in my weekly menu. As a mom, an app like this would be great for finding fun outdoor activities to do with my son.

The Story Behind the Design

This app for the fictional Williams Family Farm is based on a logo I created for my grandparents - Robert and Ella. They started a small private farm that they tended together for decades until my grandmother's passing in late 2023.

The logo was originally designed for me to digitize and embroider onto denim jackets and baseball caps for them to wear while farming and caring for their bees in the cooler weather.

Williams Family Farm may not be a sprawling 250-acre farm, but it is one where love grows (alongside the biggest cabbages you've ever seen in your life). It got me thinking, what if it were a large farm where families could come and pick strawberries and take hayrides? And thus, the app was born.

My grandparents were married for 70 years. My grandfather is 90 and still cares for this little farm every day and shares what he grows with friends, family, and his community.
